New Website Resource Launched for Anti-Spiking Awareness Week

In support of Anti-Spiking Awareness Week, which runs from 16th-22nd September 2024, we are proud to announce the launch of a new resource section on our website dedicated to providing essential training and guidance for businesses. Our goal is to empower venues across Brighton’s night-time economy with the tools to combat spiking incidents and ensure the safety of everyone enjoying our city’s vibrant nightlife.

Spiking is a serious crime that violates personal safety and trust. It can have devastating effects on the victim, leaving them scared and vulnerable. It's important to stress that being spiked is never the fault of the individual. In response, Brighton’s stakeholders are taking a firm stand against drink spiking by raising awareness, offering staff training, and providing clear steps on how to prevent and respond to incidents.

Our newly launched website section includes actionable steps for venues to respond swiftly and safely when spiking is suspected, as well as preventative measures to help deter potential offenders. This resource is part of our ongoing commitment to create a safer, more responsible night-time environment in Brighton.

We invite all local businesses to visit our resources and training page to access vital information and join us in the fight against spiking.
